KARACHI: The 4th Commissioner Cup boys and girls basketball tournament will be played from Dec 30, 2020 to Jan 10, 2021 at the beautifully renovated Arambagh-Abdul Nasir basketball courts.

Leading teams from all six zones of the metropolis will be invited to compete in the event.

This was announced by Administrator-DC South Irshad Ali Sodhar after a meeting with the KBBA and PSWA officials here on Tuesday.

“The Commissioner Cup will be grand event for both boys and girls and all top facilities will be provided to the players during the tournament,” said the Deputy Commissioner South. He instructed chief organizer Ghulam Mohammad to ensure that all SOPs are strictly followed during the event and good umpiring standards are maintained. He further said that DMC South has upgraded many parks and ground in the vicinity and will carry on the uplift work in the coming months.

The KBBA officials later briefed DC Irshad Sodhar about the previous three Commissioner Cup tournaments and thanked Administrator Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani for his tremendous cooperation in smooth staging of the tournaments.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Arambagh Imran Nazir Sheikh has been named as the chairman of the organising committee while Tariq Hussain will be the organizing secretary and Mohammad Arshad will be the media coordinator of the event.
