Three hostages rescued

SUKKUR: Police freed three hostages held by Jagirani gang of bandits on the second day of a large-scale anti-dacoit operation in riverine area of Kandhkot on Friday.

Police officials said the hostages were identified as elderly Hazaro Shaikh, his daughter Saira Shaikh and Ghulam Mirani, driver of the mini-truck in which they were travelling to Wahid Bux Bijarani village near Ghauspur when the bandits kidnapped them 17 days ago.

Police brought them to SSP office in Kandhkot and handed them over to their relatives who appreciated police’s efforts for the safe recovery of their loved ones.

Kandhkot-Kashmore SSP Amjad Shaikh led the operation­.
