ISLAMABAD: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Pakistan Squash Feder­ation (PSF) has elected squash legend Qamar Zaman and Adnan Asad as Vice Presidents of the federation for the next four years.

The 47th AGM of PSF was held here under the presidentship of Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff at the Air Headquarters, Islamabad. During the AGM, elections of vice-presidents were also held and the house unanimously elected Qamar Zaman and Adnan Asad as Vice Presidents of PSF for the next four-year period.

It is relevant to note here that the PSF has three vice presidents including a senior vice president and two vice presidents. Air Marshal Aamir Masood is the current Senior Vice President of PSF.

According to a press release issued by PAF on Thursday, squash legends, representatives of provincial squash associations, affiliated members and representatives of Pakistan Sports Board were also present during the meeting. Addressing the general council members, Air Chief Mujahid Anwar Khan, who is also President PSF, thanked the representatives of affiliated units and provinces for their participation and offered whole-hearted support of PAF as well as PSF for the promotion of squash.

The performance evaluation of provincial associations for the year 2019-2020 was also carried out by the general council.

The Punjab Squash Association was awarded winner’s trophy for Pride of Perfor­mance; whereas KP Squash Association stood runners-up.

The meeting concluded with the hope to revive Pakistan’s ascendancy in the international arena of squash and that all provincial associations and affiliated departments would put in their best to generate adequate funds to sponsor their respective players.
