KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation on Wednesday established a field force for road construction and renovation.

This was stated by city Administrator and Commissioner Iftikhar Ali Shallwani while reviewing works of maintenance of flyovers and roads in several parts of the city. “The field force will repair the roads forthwith and make them motorable,” he added.

He said that trucks having material to repair roads along with labourers would be on standby round the clock to work forthwith, adding that more roads would be constructed under Annual Development Programme.

He said that expansion joints of bridges were also being replaced as the expansion joints of Gharibabad flyover, Liaquatabad flyover, Jauhar Morr Shaheed Major Adeel flyover had already been replaced.
