KARACHI, Jan 20: Thirteen vehicles — six cars and seven motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Sunday, the police said.

Three cars were hijacked: one each in districts East, South, and Central. Three others were stolen: two in district East and one in district West.

Three motorcycles were hijacked: one each in districts Central, South, and East. Four others were stolen: two in district East and one each in districts Central and West.

ROAD ACCIDENT: An unidentified man died in a road accident on Burnes Road on Sunday.

The police said that the victim was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle near Memon Hospital on Burnes Road. The police said that the victim was rushed to Civil Hospital by unknown persons who left the hospital after leaving him at the Emergency Ward of the hospital.

DIES: A six-year-old boy died while playing with his father’s pistol in his home in Mominabad on Sunday.

The police said that two cousins, Mohammed Shakil, aged six, and Abdul Rahman, aged five, were plying in their home in Sector 4-D in Mominabad.

As the children got hold of a pistol lying unattended in a room, Abdul Rahman pressed the trigger seriously wounding Mohammed Shakil.

Shakil was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, the police said.

Later, post-mortem examination was conducted on the body in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, the police said.

ARRESTED: The CIA police claimed to have arrested a notorious suspect wanted in several cases by the police.

A statement issued on Sunday said that the suspect, Hamid alias Piya, was arrested by the police after an exchange of fire with him in Khokhrapar, Malir, area.

The CIA raided a hideout of some suspects on a tipoff. During the raid, the suspect tried to flee by opening fire at the police. The police returned the fire injuring Hamid, who was arrested in injured condition.
