QUETTA: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Information Bushra Rind has said that the Balochistan government has adopted a strategy to provide maximum facilities to people in the health and education sectors.

Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, she said: “In order to overcome the shortage of doctors in the province, the government will hire 3,000 male and female doctors on contract.”

Staff nurses and other medical staff would also be recruited, she added.

The adviser said the government had also decided to take action against land grabbers and encroachers. It was the commitment of the government not to allow anyone to hold illegal possessions of government or private property, she added.

She said the government would soon announce a new comprehensive media policy to address the problems being faced by the media persons.

Ms Rind said the Balochistan government was making all-out efforts to eliminate corruption from the province and the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team and National Accountability Bureau had recently signed a memorandum of understanding to work jointly against corruption and corrupt elements.

Talking about the current cold wave and expected rain and snowfall in Balochistan, she said latest machinery had been acquired to combat with the challenge successfully.

In reply to a question, Ms Rind said electricity and gas supply were federal subjects and the chief minister had already discussed these issue with federal authorities.
