ISLAMABAD: The Diabetes Centre (TDC) on Saturday organised an awareness walk and bicycle rally in connection with World Diabetes Day - observed on Nov 14 - with an aim to educate people about preventive measures in order to lower risk of the disease and complications that may arise from it.

Government officials, medical specialists, social workers, representatives from healthcare organisations, students, representatives of corporate sector and individuals from various walks of life attended both gatherings.

Deputy Director General (Health) Dr Minhaj-us-Siraj was chief guest at the walk while Director General (Health) Dr Hasan Orooj was chief guest at the bicycle rally, held from Centaurus Mall till Faisal Mosque.

Being a socially responsible organisation and a major stakeholder of diabetes in Pakistan, TDC organised various activities in the month of November to show solidarity with the global diabetes community, TDC CEO Tahir M. Abbasi told the press.
