Zahoor and Apwa in final

KARACHI, Sept 29: GBSS Zahoor will meet GBSS Apwa Korangi in the final of the KCCA Inter-school cricket tournament after both scored easy semifinal victories on Wednesday.

In the first semifinal, GBSS Zahoor defeated Central City Grammar School by 78 runs at the TMC Ground.

Batting first, GBSS Zahoor made 190 for nine with Imran Ahmed (59 with five fours) being the main run contributor.

Central City Grammar, in reply, were all out for 112. Off-spinner Tabish Nawab took three for 16.

In the other semifinal, played at KCCA Stadium, GBSS Apwa Korangi trounced Royal Academy by 107 runs.

Imran Ali (65 with seven fours) and Arsalan Hussain (54 with six fours) excelled with the bat as GBSS Apwa Korangi hit up 232. Slow left-armer Farhad Mirza captured five for 32.

Leg-spinner Shaharyar Zafar then claimed five for 33 and off-spinner Mohammad Zohaib picked up four for 15 as Royal Academy collapsed to 132 all out in the 38th over.
