Mirani dam canals

Published November 9, 2020

THE canals of Mirani dam located at the Dasht River are the only source of water for some rural areas of Balochistan. The construction of these small canals started a long time ago, but it has still not been completed.

Those responsible for project completion make false promises whenever the farmers complain about water issues. The water received is not drinkable as it contains plastic bags and soil. This is injustice to our own people. The shortage of water is forcing the poor to migrate to other areas, leaving their lands behind.

The farmers should be provided all basic facilities to grow food. The provincial government should look into the matter and resolve the issue at the earliest.
