KARACHI: BankIslami Pakistan Ltd reported profit after tax at Rs1.76bn for the 9M20, showing growth of 81 per cent over the earnings in the same time last year. Operating profit of the bank increased 72pc to Rs4.79bn.

“The growth in profit was achieved on the back of a rise in core CASA deposits by 20pc, persistent growth in earning assets, along with improvement in net spreads and cost to income ratio”, the bank said in a statement.

Atlas Honda income falls to Rs885m

Atlas Honda Ltd reported PAT at Rs885 million and EPS at Rs7.14 for the half year ended Sept 30, against PAT at Rs1.41bn and EPS at Rs11.38 in the first half of last year. Net sales decreased to Rs33.6bn from Rs41.3bn.

SCBL records Rs11.9bn profit

Standard Chartered Bank (Pak) Ltd recorded profit after tax in the sum of Rs11.9 billion for the nine months ended Sept 30, representing earning per share at Rs3.08.

The earnings grew from Rs11.4bn and EPS at Rs2.95 in the corresponding period of previous year.

Total income rose to Rs32.1bn for the 9MFY20, from Rs28.6bn same period last year.

Khyber Tobacco PAT at Rs32.4m

Khyber Tobacco Company Limited recorded PAT at Rs32.4m and EPS at Rs6.75 for the three-months ended Sept 30, down from Rs46.8m and EPS at Rs9.73 in the same period last year. Sales decreased to Rs353m from Rs380m.

SBP approves another EMI

The State Bank of Pakistan has allowed TAG to to operate as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) in the country, a press release issued by the company said on Monday.

TAG is a super app which allows its users to open mobile wallets and get debit cards.
