ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday disposed of a petition seeking a directive for the government to sever diplomatic relations with France over the issue of publication of blasphemous sketches and asked the petitioner to take up this issue with the federal cabinet.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, who heard the case, remarked that the federal cabinet should take a decision keeping in view public sentiments.
Justice Kayani said that the government of Pakistan has condemned the act, summoned the French ambassador to the Foreign Office and the National Assembly has passed a resolution against the publication of blasphemous sketches.
