SHANGLA: The youth of Aloch in Puran tehsil here have demanded of the government to expedite construction work on the local playground and 132KV grid station.

The demand came during the final match of All-Shangla Volleyball Tournament at Aloch in Puran tehsil the other day, where an activist Mohammad Hanif Khan was chief guest.

On this occasion, the youth said they were happy when foundation stone of the playground was laid three years ago, but the government failed in its construction and the local players were still deprived of a ground.

He said that local sportsmen could be seen playing games at open spaces along the rivers.

Mr Hanif urged the local political leadership to take practical steps for completion of the grid station and playground projects, which were delayed for years now.

He said if work was not started within a month he along with local sportsmen would start agitation against politicians from the area.

Abdul Ghafar, a local youth, said there was no playground for them in the entire Puran tehsil despite promises by the political leaders.

Najeeb Khan said Puran and Martung residents had been facing problems due to low voltage and power outages because of the burden on 132KV Kotkay grid station. He demanded of Wapda to expedite work on the 132KV grid station being built in Aloch, Puran.
