KARACHI, Sept 27: An unpleasant scene was created on Tuesday night at the Jinnah Terminal when over 30 passengers of a Muscat-bound flight were denied check-in.

According to CAA sources, the situation arose due to overbooking by the airline which confirmed the reservation of over 150 passengers, though its aircraft had the capacity of only 120.

The sources said the Aero Asia flight No. RSO-744 was scheduled to leave at 8pm. However, the passengers were called on their phones, telling them that the flight’s departure had been delayed and it would now take off at 9:30pm.

The sourced said the passengers reached the check-in counter, but the staff told them that they had issued boarding cards to the passengers.
