SAPM Dr Faisal Sultan has warned that failure to follow precautions may force the government to shut down or impose restrictions on business and industries once again in order to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

In a press conference, Dr Faisal urged the people to "realise [their] responsibility in an individual capacity as well and collectively" and follow the standard operation procedures (SOPs), which include:

  • avoiding crowds

  • wearing masks

  • maintaining social distancing

"Take part in [observing SOPs] so that until now, the excellent stats that we have seen [due to] our efforts that are being lauded across the world, don't turn into a difficult and painful and situation where our healthcare system and hospitals are burdened," he said.
