CHAGAI: Adviser to the Balochistan Chief Minister on Minorities Affairs Dhanesh Kumar has accused the opposition parties of trying to spread coronavirus in the country by not following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) during their anti-government rallies.

Talking to reporters after inaugurating an RO plant in Hindu Mohalla in Dalbandin, Mr Kumar said the government of Pakistan had been praised globally for controlling the Covid-19 pandemic, but the leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement were holding their mass gatherings to once again spread Covid-19 in the country.

Minister for Communications and Works Mir Mohammad Arif Mohammad Hasni accompanied the adviser.

Mr Kumar said the opposition wanted to impose its agenda by putting pressure on the government.

Earlier, the adviser met the members of the Hindu community in Dalbandin and assured them that their rights would be protected. He told them that he had been visiting every district of Balochistan on the instructions of Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani who wanted to provide maximum facilities to the minorities.

Meanwhile, as many as 70 students of Government Boys Degree College, Dalbandin, have been provided laptops by Senate Chairman Mohammad Sadiq Sanjrani.

At a ceremony held at the Deputy Commissioner office in Dalbandin, Balochistan Awami Party’s leader Ejaz Khan Sanjrani, along with the Chagai deputy commissioner, handed over the laptops to students.

He said that at a meeting with the students in Islamabad during their exposure tour last year, the Senate chairman had promised to provide laptops to them.
