RAWALPINDI: The government has imposed a ban on recruitment in Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) until the process of segregation within the authority is complete.

Following the federal cabinet’s decision, the Aviation Division is in the process of segregating services and regulatory functions within the authority. The process will involve segregation of financial, administrative, human resource assets and liabilities of CAA as per the planned proposal.

Henceforth, aviation minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan had issued a directive stating there shall be a complete ban on processing of new recruitment in CAA. In case a vacancy needs to be filled on emergent requirement, the authority will initiate a case and submit it for approval to the office of the aviation minister for final decision after it has gone through secretary of the aviation division.

According to the government’s directive, no transfers will be carried out until the process of segregation is complete. The authority has also been directed to withhold ongoing interviews against already advertised vacancies and promotion boards till the appointment of a regular director general at the authority.
