NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Two employees of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) were kidnapped in Spinwam area of North Waziristan tribal district on Thursday.

Deputy superintendent of police Azam Khan confirmed that two employees associated with the FWO had gone missing in the area near Afghan border. He said that the missing employees had been identified as Assad and Adnan.

The official said that the police were in contact with the elders of the area to ascertain whereabouts of the missing employees. He said the elders had assured full cooperation. Search operation for the missing employees was underway as no group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

FWO, a subsidiary of the army, is working on development schemes in North Waziristan and has hired employees on contract.
