LAHORE: A heavily loaded seven-event card, comprising of two races for thoroughbreds, has been dished out for the third day/night Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse here on Sunday.

The feature event, the Fantastic Plate, Class VI Division II, III and IV to be contested over the sprinting distance of 1,100 metres has nine runners with most of reputed thoroughbred bloodlines.

On their recent form and performances in races a quartet looks to be the real contenders — Tiger Jet, JF Thunder, Sea Horse and Salam-e-Dera. They should fight it out for top honours.

In the supporting event, the Fantastic Plate Class VII Division I to be gone over 1,100 metres exactly a dozen runners will be vying to make it a close contest.

The formidable top weight five-year-old mare Anibal with an unbeaten streak of three consecutive wins will be on the trot to extend her win lead further. However, three-year-old colts Well Done Pakistan and Galatic Song and filly Legacy will be up for a strong challenge in an expected tight finish subject to riders’ saddle skill.

Some close finishes are expected in a couple of other races. Four races will be contested over the distance of 1,000 metres while three will be decided over 1,100 metres.
