CHARSADDA: A dejected police official, who had lost his wife and three siblings in a road accident some three months ago, committed suicide here on Friday.

Irshad Ahmed, the elder brother of deceased ASI, Intizar Khan, reported to the Umarzai police station that he got information that Intizar had shot himself dead with a pistol at his home. He said when they reached his home he was lying in pool of blood on his bed.

The deceased was moharrar at the Tangi police station. His body was shifted to the district headquarters hospital for postmortem. Later, he was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard.

He had lost his wife and three children when his car skidded off the road and plunged into Lower Swat Canal in Umarzai area of Tangi tehsil on July 2, 2020. He himself was driving the car. As a result, his wife, two sons and a daughter drowned in the canal. However, Intizar was rescued by the area people.
