LAKKI MARWAT: A young man was shot dead over a petty dispute in Tajori town here on Sunday.

Police officials said Rafiullah, his uncle Ahmad Khan and brother Safiullah, 13, were in the fields near their village when Umer Ali came there and opened fire on Rafiullah with a rifle, killing him on the spot. The killers escaped on a motorcycle.

The officials said the deceased and the killer had brawled a year ago, but reconciliation had been made between them by local elders.

They said body of Rafiullah was handed over to relatives after postmortem in a local hospital, adding the police had registered a case on the complaint of deceased’s brother, Safiullah.

Separately, three people were injured when a car they were travelling in crashed onto a roadside tree near Tajazai town.

A rescue 1122 team reached the place when it learnt about the accident and shifted the injured to the district headquarters hospital. The rescuers also handed over the luggage and other valuables of the wounded men to their relatives.
