Published September 25, 2005

SANGHAR, Sept 24: Farmers of the Sarki minor have demanded that government should provide laser levellers to them on subsidized rates. Speaking at a meeting of the farmers’ organization of the Sarki minor on Friday, the chairman of the farmers’ organisation, Rasool Bux Jinjh, said the government had announced to provide laser levellers to FOs on 50 per cent subsidized rate.

He said many FOs had deposited Rs25,000 each as advance for laser machines several months ago but in vain.

He demanded that as the Rabi season was approaching so the machinery be immediately provided to farmers.

He demanded that remaining amount be charged in instalments because no FO was in a position to pay the amount in lump sum.
