LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Wednesday was apprised by different departments at a meeting at his office of steps taken to solve Lahore’s problems, where parliamentarians also presented their suggestions in this regard.

At the meeting, the chief minister stated that a strategy had been evolved to solve the problems of the provincial metropolis through mutual consultation, adding the role of the parliamentarians and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf office-bearers would be pivotal in this regard.

He said the PTI’s elected representatives and office-bearers would be given ownership of development projects and every possible effort be made to resolve problems of the city dwellers. He announced mega projects would soon be launched for Lahore.

Mr Buzdar expressed displeasure over poor cleanliness situation in the city and made it clear that the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) would have to improve its performance. He said the cleanliness system would have to be rectified permanently and added that the officials of Lahore Metropolitan Corporation should also improve their performance as a lot of complaints being received were related to its working.

Provincial ministers Abdul Aleem Khan, Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed, Dr Yasmin Rashid, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Murad Raas, Malik Karamat Khokhar, Nadeem Bara, Malik Sarfraz, PTI (Central Punjab) president Ejaz Chaudhry, Punjab inspector general of police, Lahore commissioner and other officials attended the meeting.
