PESHAWAR’S bus rapid transport (BRT) service has been suspended after another bus recently caught fire in the Hayatabad area. This incident was the fourth one since Aug 13.
Foreseeing this high risk associated with BRT, TransPeshawar, the government-owned company, in addition to an inspection of its entire fleet should offer an insurance cover to commuters to safeguard associated risks.
Otherwise it cannot be ruled out that the much delayed and expensive project will end up as a flop and may suffer huge losses.
