PESHAWAR: The Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI), Peshawar, and the Pakistan Flour Mills Association, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (PFMA-KP), have elected their office-bearers for the session 2010-21.

Businesswomen, including Rabail Riaz, Naseem Akhtar and Rabia Basri were elected unopposed as president, senior vice-president and vice-president of WCCI, Peshawar division, respectively.

The announcement was made in a statement here on Saturday by the chamber’s election commission members after a meeting. It was stated no candidate had submitted nomination papers against them. The office-bearers will take charge of their offices on Oct 1.

The announcement naming members of the executive committee of the women chamber will be made during the annual general meeting of the chamber.

Ms Rukhsana Nadir, the outgoing WCCI chief, congratulated the newly-elected office-bearers for having been elected unopposed.

Similarly, Mohammad Tariq, Haji Momin Khan, Ghani ur Rehman Khattak, Haji Nizamuddin and Majid Firdous, who had contested on five vacant seats of Corporate Group, were elected unopposed as members of the association’s executive committee for the next term, according to a notification issued by the election committee.

The election committee announced that Mohammad Naeem Butt, Sabir Ahmad Bangash, Shahzad Yousaf, Malik Muzaffaruddin and Amjad Ali Shinwari, contesting for five vacant seats of the Associate Group, were elected members of the association’s executive committee for the next term.

The elections were held under PFMA chairman Haji Mohammad Iqbal.
