MANSEHRA: SHO of the Darband police station Mohammad Nawaz was suspended on Saturday for allegedly torturing a pregnant woman.

The nine months pregnant woman had given birth to a stillborn baby on Tuesday night.

DIG of Hazara police Qazi Jamilur Rehman had ordered an inquiry over the complaint that Darband police station SHO Mohammad Nawaz had kicked and thrashed her after scaling into her house.

Mr Rehman appointed Tahir Iqbal as the new SHO on the completion of preliminary investigation by additional superintendent of police Mansehra Jamil Akhtar and asked district police officer Mansehra Sadiq Baloch to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the matter.

Meanwhile, the residents of Darband continued to stage rallies against the incident and demanded registration of an FIR against SHO under Section 302 of PPC.Former district councillor Abdul Zaman Tanoli said the SHO should be booked for killing an infant.

ELECTORAL LIST: The Election Commission of Pakistan has displayed the lists of constituencies in 194 village and neighbourhood councils in Mansehra district after the completion of delimitation.

“The constituency lists will be used in the coming local body elections. If anyone has any objection or want any correction or changes in them, he or she should move the regional election commissioner’s office for the purpose until Oct 2,” district election commissioner Zeeshan Khan told reporters on Saturday.He said the final lists would be made public on Oct 25.
