LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Wednesday indicted four leaders of the banned Jamatud Dawa (JuD) in as many more cases of terror financing, registered by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

The JuD leaders -- Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki, Zafar Iqbal, Muhammad Ashraf and Yahya Mujahid -- were produced before ATC-III Judge Ijaz Ahmad Buttar for indictment in the FIR Nos 18, 24, 38 and 89 filed against them in 2019.

The judge, after their indictment, adjourned the hearing till Sept 17 (today) and directed the prosecution to present witnesses.

Several leaders of the banned organisation have already been convicted in many FIRs of terror financing.

JuD chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has also been handed down jail terms in two of the FIRs.

The CTD had registered 23 FIRs against the leaders of the JuD in different cities of Punjab. However, the trial in several cases was transferred to Lahore following an order passed by the high court on the petitions of the suspects.
