KARACHI: On Tuesday, the first day of schools’ reopening after a gap of more than six months, Sindh Education and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani paid a visit to an educational institution at 8am.

Later, the provincial minister visited more than 15 government and private schools and colleges in districts East, South and Keamari and checked the SOPs there.

The provincial minister also provided masks to students and staff members who were found to be without masks in schools and colleges and directed authorities to ensure provision of masks at their head offices in all public and private educational institutions.

The provincial minister expressed satisfaction over the availability of thermal guns, sanitisers and masks at main entrances of institutions.

At the Commerce College for Women, the minister expressed outrage over poor sanitation arrangements there. He issued instructions to the college principal for immediate cleaning. Also at Kotwal School, he reviewed the teaching system by visiting classrooms to get information from students regarding the SOPs there.

On this occasion, he not only reprimanded the non-teaching staff for not wearing masks, but also provided them masks himself.
