KARACHI: The hot and humid spell the city was experiencing for the past few days was partially broken by light scattered rain on Monday.

According to a Met department official, the rain was produced by a low-pressure area circulating over south/southeast of Karachi. The city is likely to have a similar weather pattern during the next two days.

The department recorded 3.6mm in North Karachi, 27.8mm in Surjani Town, 0.6mm in Saadi Town and 1mm in Nazimabad (Paposh).

The maximum temperature recorded was 37.2 degrees Celsius with 49 per cent relative humidity.

“Partly cloudy and hot weather is expected in most parts of the province (on Tuesday). However, rain/wind-thunderstorm are expected in Mirpurkhas, Mithi, Sanghar, Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Shikarpur and surrounding areas,” stated the department website.
