The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has started testing teachers for the coronavirus ahead of reopening of schools in the province.

The department said that teams will visit school campuses to test teachers and directed district education officers to ensure the presence of all teachers during the visit. In the first phase, the teams will visit high schools to collect samples, the department said.

The results of the tests will be provided 72 hours after collection of the samples, the health department added.

Meanwhile, the KP government has also formed district monitoring committees (DMCs) which will visit schools to make sure that SOPs are being implemented.
