University fee hike

Published September 12, 2020

THE Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad is one of the most prestigious institutions of the country with many students aspiring to study here. The campus is a hub of diversity, and students of every region and social background strive to be admitted.

Unfortunately, this semester the university administration has increased the tuition fee from Rs37,000 to Rs76,000 per semester, which is more than a 100 per cent increase.

This is a great blow to students whose parents have modest financial means, especially because the coronavirus pandemic has brought nearly all economic activities to a halt and the masses are being driven towards penury.

The education ministry and higher authorities are requested to look into the issue and resolve the matter urgently as the future of thousands of students is at stake.
