PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth inaugurated a week-long cleanliness campaign here on Monday.
The cleanliness week will continue till Sept 12 and will be observed by the high court as well as district judiciary across the province.
While inaugurating the week, the chief justice quoted the famous saying of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that “Cleanliness is half of faith”.
He stated: “Islam puts great emphasis on both spiritual and physical cleanliness and purification, which is exactly why having high personal hygiene standards is important for our health but also considered part of our religious practice as a Muslim.”
The ceremony was attended among others by Peshawar High Court Bar Association president Khalid Anwar Afridi and other cabinet members.
Speaking on the occasion PHC Registrar Khawaja Wajihuddin stated that the high court had devised Cleanliness and Sanitation Policy 2020, which gave a complete set of guidelines on personal hygiene and workplace cleanliness to all the stakeholders.
He further said that cleanliness week should be observed by the district judiciary as well and necessary instructions had been passed on to the district and sessions judges throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in this regard.
