Four die in traffic accidents

HARIPUR, 21 Sept: Four passengers, including a woman, were killed while 25 others injured, five of them seriously, in two roads accidents here on Wednesday. Khalabat township police said that a Haripur bound passenger van plunged into a road side ravine while negotiating a blind turn near village Haal Jadaal, about 38 Km from here. As a result a boy was killed on the spot while 21 others were injured.

The injured were moved to DHQ hospital where two of them succumbed to their injuries. Four of the injured were later referred to Ayub Medical Complex in critical condition.

The deceased include Mahroofan Jan, Sajid Mehmood and Khan Muhammad.

In another accident a boy was killed and seven others received injuries when a tractor-trolley carrying passengers overturned near village Phohaar, some 35 Km from district head quarter Haripur. Police quoted one of the injured as saying that the tractor-trolley carrying nine passengers from a local village was on its way to village Chaintree when it skidded off the road and overturned.

The deceased boy was identified as Awais Fazal. One of the injured, Akmal, was shifted to Ayub medical complex where his conditions were stated to be critical.
