PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has provided 5,000 disposable coveralls to the health department and Rescue 1122 to help contain spread of Covid-19.
A statement issued here said the items were provided in collaboration with UNHCR and PDMA partner, the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP)
It said 4,000 disposable coveralls were dispatched to the health department, and 1,000 to Rescue 1122.
PDMA director general Perwaiz Khan thanked UNHCR and its partner for the support. He said on the directives of the provincial government, PDMA was carrying out awareness campaigns across the province. He said the authority in collaboration with Cesvi Pakistan had installed billboards and cross banners about the precautionary measures at public places in Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mardan, Swat, Buner, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan, Haripur, Mansehra, Abbottabad and other districts.
Mr Khan said PDMA also broadcast messages on FMA radios, social, print and electronic media informing the masses about the precautions. The radio messages are being broadcast in Urdu, Pashtu, Hindko, Waziri, Chitrali and other languages.
The DG said by following SOPs and adopting precautionary measures people could help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
