QUETTA: Seven people — five of them belonging to the same family — were killed and five others injured in road accidents in Loralai, Washuk and Quetta on Saturday.

Levies Force officials said a family was travelling by car when it collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction on the main Loralai-D.G. Khan road near Do-Sharks Levies Force station, some 20km from Loralai. Five members of the family, including women and children, died and three other suffered injuries in the accident.

The officials said all the five received multiple injuries and died on the spot.

Soon after receiving information about the accident, Levies Force personnel rushed to the area and shifted the bodies and injured to the district hospital in Loralai.

The injured were later shifted to the Trauma Centre in Quetta as they received serious injuries.

In the Nag area of Washuk district, a man was killed and another injured when their vehicle overturned. They were going from Kalat to Panjgur. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Altaf and the injured as Abdul Qadir.

A man was killed after being hit by a dumper in the Eastern By-pass area, a locality on the outskirts of Quetta.

Police identified the deceased as Mansoor Ahmed, a resident of Nushki.
