KARACHI: A Chinese national was stabbed and injured allegedly by a colleague of his in Defence, police said on Saturday.

They added that Hujin Shuang, 35, was stabbed and injured by another Chinese man, Cinwin Xing, on Khayaban-i-Shujaat near a petrol station in Defence Phase 6. The suspect escaped from the crime scene.

They both work at Port Qasim.

The wounded man was initially taken to a nearby private hospital and later on shifted to another private hospital in Clifton, where his condition was stated to be out of danger.

The Darakshan police have registered an FIR against the suspect.

A senior officer said that the incident appeared to be the outcome of some monetary dispute between them. The complainant in his statement said that when he arrived at the fuel station and disembarked from his car, the suspect stabbed him.
