Karachi flooding

Published August 11, 2020

Karachi is still under the looming threat of urban flooding and the met department has forecast heavy rains in Sindh.

The last spell of rain disturbed civic life. Standing water on roads increased the spread of diseases in Karachi, while power outages caused misery to millions.

Ambulances services have been facing problems in their operations, while many people lost their lives owing to electrocution. The government did not educate the people on what precautionary measures they should take to keep themselves safe.

Sadly, the authorities failed to take adequate steps. Although people of Karachi are experiencing the fourth monsoon rain spell this year, they are yet to see any relief measures. A sincere leadership is needed to do this job.
