Following Sindh and Punjab, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also lifted lockdown restrictions on all sectors, excluding marriage halls and educational institutions.

According to the notification issued by the Home and Tribal Affairs Department, all sectors apart from marriage halls and educational institutions are allowed to operate from August 10 (today).

"All religious congregations shall be allowed after approval from the administration concerned. Timings and weekly holidays are reverted to pre-Covid-19 practice," the notification said, adding that all kinds of public transport are open with immediate effect.

All administrative departments are directed to prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the organisations/ institutions/ establishments falling under their respective jurisdictions and ensure their rigorous implementation, the notification said, adding that stringent action would be taken against violators.
