SHEIKHUPURA: A man allegedly killed his wife and later set the body on fire at Pind Muridke on Sunday.

Nazim Masih and his wife Perveen Masih used to quarrel with each other over domestic issues. They exchanged harsh words over some issue on Sunday after which Nazim hit his wife with an iron rod as a result of which she died on the spot. He also set the body on fire and escaped.

The Farooqabad Saddar police started investigation.

RAPE: Police on Sunday registered a case against a resident of Shaheen Villa on the allegation of raping an 11-year-old girl being employed as maid.

A resident of Ferozewatwan, the girl’s father complained to police that due to financial constraints he had sent his daughter to work as domestic help but the employer raped her. The suspect and his family made good their escape, he said.

DPO Ghazi Salahuddin took notice and directed police to arrest the rapist as soon as possible.
