The government has announced the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for August 14 and Muharram, an NCOC meeting has been told.

According to the SOPs for Muharram:

  • only registered processions would be allowed to be taken out

  • organisers of processions will be asked to avoid narrow streets

  • speakers would have to wear masks and maintain a distance of at least six feet from the first row of the majlis participants

For Independence Day events, use of sanitisers at entry points and wearing of masks would be mandatory for participants.
