HARIPUR: The police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested a teenage girl of British nationality for murdering her alleged lover.

She was arrested while fleeing to UK near Islamabad, SHO city police Siddiq Shah claimed.

The victim’s father, a resident of Mohallah Roshanabad, filed an FIR on Tuesday night, stating that the accused, a resident of Wah Cantonment, called his son to Islamabad on phone on Monday, and shot and critically injured him.

He said the accused managed to flee and the injured was shifted to the Haripur Trauma Centre but he was referred to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad where he succumbed to injuries.

The SHO said during preliminary investigation the girl confessed to committing the murder as the victim continuously assaulted her on the promise of marrying her.

She was produced before the court of judicial magistrate who sent him to Haripur Central Jail.
