KARACHI: A newlywed couple was found bludgeoned to death in Awami Colony in Korangi on Wednesday, said police.
They suspected the involvement of a former fiancé of the woman in the double murder.
Area SHO Humayun Ahmed Khan said that bodies of Meer Hasan, 35, and his wife, Shabana, 27, were found in a home in Gulshan-i-Latif. The couple had died around five to six days ago, he added. Both had been killed with heavy stones which were hit on their heads.
The bodies were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) to fulfil medico-legal formalities.
The officer said that the woman had been engaged to someone in her native town in Sujawal district since her childhood. But she didn’t like him and she got married to Meer with her free consent around one and half months ago.
