PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party will observe the Martyrs Day to pay homage to the policemen who laid down their lives during the fight against terrorism.
In a press release issued here on Monday, the party announced to observe the Martyrs Day as per the directives of the party’s central president Asfandyar Wali Khan.
All the party members in all the districts would lay floral wreaths at the graves of the policemen who laid down their lives for the country.
The statement quoted ANP provincial president Aimal Wali Khan as saying that the party acknowledged the sacrifices made by the provincial police while combating the militancy.
He said it was due to the sacrifices made by the people and the police that finally helped establish peace in the province. He said the party workers would hold Quran Khawani for the departed souls.
