Published September 19, 2005

KARACHI, Sept 18: Chairperson of the Pakistan People’s Party-Shaheed Bhutto Ms Ghinva Bhutto on Sunday paid rich tributes to Mir Murtaza Bhutto, her husband who founded the party, for laying down his life for the cause of the downtrodden. Speaking at a ceremony held at the 70-Clifton to mark the 51st birth anniversary of Mir Murtaza, she said that under the leadership of the late leader, the democratic forces had waged a struggle to establish people’s rule, eliminate the exploiting system and restore rule of law and constitution. However, she said, people had been deprived of their leader, Mir Murtaza Bhutto who always practised and taught others the politics of principles and ideology.

On the occasion, Ghinva Bhutto also cut a 51-pound cake amid the partymen’s slogans of ‘Jeay Mir Murtaza Bhutto’.
