Rains & misery

Published August 1, 2020

THE rainy season brings joy and happiness to everyone. But whenever it rains in Karachi, there is always a mess. Roads are submerged in rainwater, causing massive traffic jams. To make things worse, sewage water overflows because of choked drains. People returning from work and other places are stranded in such conditions.

There were also short circuits, while electric wires were damaged which can result in fatalities. Vehicles on roads and houses could be seen submerged in rainwater.

The authorities concerned should wake up from slumber, clear the mess and prepare for more rains.
