Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the nation to take precautionary measures during Eidul Azha and Muharram in an effort to curb the transmission of the coronavirus.

Addressing the nation, the premier said: "If we don't take care during Eid and Muharram, then cases may rise again."

He urged the public to refrain from repeating the mistakes made during Eidul Fitr, cautioning them against being "negligent".

"We don't want people to be negligent because they hear that cases are falling and deaths have decreased. That will amount to being ungrateful," he said, adding that imposing a total lockdown would cause major economic loss.
