RAWALPINDI: A woman who allegedly staged the kidnapping of her son was apprehended along with her husband and her son recovered by police on Sunday.

Police said the woman registered a case regarding the alleged abduction of her 15-year-old son with the Kahuta police, all the while detaining the boy in her house.

During the investigation, the police found that the boy had been held by his mother, who had accused her ex-husband of kidnapping him. The woman and her current husband have been arrested and her son was recovered.

Also on Sunday, a man was found dead in his home in Dhoka Dalal, in the Ganjmandi police area.

Mohammad Ishfaq, a traffic warden, had been suffering from a spinal cord disease for the last few months. He was found with his throatcut in his bed.

The police have not been able to determine whether Ishfaq was killed or committed suicide.

Police said forensic experts have collected evidence from the scene and a postmortem was carried out to confirm the cause of death.

They said the man’s death did not appear to be a murder and could have been suicide, but his family said he never expressed anything that would lead them to believe he had killed himself. No suicide note was found from the scene.
