LOADSHEDDING and electricity blackouts are not only confined to Karachi. Larkana city is also suffering. The residents of Larkana are forced to put up with unscheduled and long hours without electricity in this heat.

Local power providers have installed huge generators in the city but provide a limited amount of electricity to shopkeepers while charging high rates.

Resham gali is the economic hub and a main shopping area of Larkana. It has to bear 14 hours of loadshedding. The shopkeepers have no choice except get electricity from the local mafia providing power and pay their high rates.

On the other hand the neighbourhoods where the elite resides have literally no loadshedding.

The Sindh government and Larkana civic authorities should resolve the electricity issue and put an end to citizens’ miseries.
