MARDAN: One person was killed and two others, including a passer-by, were injured in a firing incident caused over an old enmity on the Bank Road near Mardan courts on Thursday.

The officials of city police station quoted one of the injured persons, Badar Alam, as saying that he along with his father, Ibrahim was on way back home after appearing in a court when their rivals opened fire over them. As a result, he said his father died on the spot, while he and a passer-by received multiple injuries.

The police officials registered FIR against the accused identified as Amir and Majid Mir on the complaint of Badar Alam.

Later, they claimed to have arrested the alleged killers near Sheikh Maltoon Town.
