LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday handed down death penalty to a man of Chunian on three counts in a case of rape-cum-murder.

City Chunian police station had registered the FIR against convict Sohail Shahzad in 2019 under sections 302, 367-A, 377 of Pakistan Penal Code and section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.

The convict had killed a boy after sexually assaulting him.

Besides the capital punishment, ATC-III Judge Ijaz Ahmad Buttar also awarded life imprisonment to the convict.
