SAHIWAL: A man allegedly gave poison to his three daughters and wife at 38/12-L village.

Noureen, 7, and Sehrish, 5, died on their way to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital of Chichawatni while hospital staff referred wife Sana and Sawera, 8, to the DHQ Teaching Hospital, Sahiwal.

Haq Nazaw Dogar escaped from the village.

Saddar SHO Rana Asif told Dawn that police were collecting forensic evidence but doctors confirmed poison was served to four victims. He said the postmortem of both girls had been conducted.

He said police were investigating the case from all possible angles. He said police had not registered a case so far because they had not received any written complaint from either Sana’s parents or from Haq Nawaz’s family.
